Pipeline Siting and Routing
Investor-owned utilities are required to obtain a permit from the CPUC for construction of certain specified infrastructure listed under Public Utilities Code sections 1001. Utilities constructing pipelines that cross state lines will also have to obtain a permit from the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC). The following are resources for FERC's permitting process:
