CPUC to Hold Wildfire Safety Advisory Board Meeting on March 11
The California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) will hold the second Wildfire Safety Advisory Board (the Board) meeting in Sacramento, as follows:
WHEN: Wednesday, March 11, 2020, 1 – 4 p.m.
WHERE: Auditorium (1st Floor), 400 R Street, Sacramento, CA 95811; also available via webcast a www.adminmonitor.com/ca/cpuc or listen-only phone line at 1-800-857-1917, passcode 92105.
Members of the public are encouraged to attend the meeting and provide their input on how the advisory group will approach reviewing the investor-owned and publicly-owned utilities’ wildfire mitigation plans. On the agenda are the Board’s Bylaws, Mission Statement, and Timeline.
Assembly Bill (AB) 1054, signed into law in July 2019, created the California Wildfire Safety Advisory Board, a board of independent expert advisors, to advise a new Wildfire Safety Division within the CPUC on wildfire safety measures, including plans written by utilities, so the CPUC can more effectively regulate the safety of investor-owned utilities. The Wildfire Safety Advisory Board will serve as an additional forum for the public to provide input on the important topic of wildfire safety.
