Cancelled - CPUC Public Forums on SCE Rate Requests
The California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC), in response to recent guidance from the California Department of Public Health concerning restrictions on public gatherings to protect public health and slow the spread of COVID-19, has cancelled all public forums (formally called Public Participation Hearings) in Southern California Edison’s (SCE) Phase I General Rate Case Application until further notice. At this time the CPUC intends to reschedule the Public Participation Hearings during Track One of the proceeding, as identified by the Assigned Commissioner’s Scoping Memo and Ruling issued November 25, 2019: http://docs.cpuc.ca.gov/PublishedDocs/Efile/G000/M320/K316/320316868.PDF.

Background
If SCE’s rate request is approved by the CPUC, the average residential monthly bill would increase by approximately $14.30 in 2021, $4 in 2022, and $6 in 2023. The impacts will be less for lower-income residential customers enrolled in the California Alternate Rates for Energy (CARE) program: $9.35 in 2021, $3 in 2022, and $4 in 2023.
