Assessing Data Needs for Building Decarbonization
CPUC Energy Division hosted a staff workshop on June 17, 2020 to assess stakeholder data needs and determine data required from investor-owned utilities for building decarbonization program planning and assessment. The workshop is required by Ordering Para (OP) 25 of Decision (D.) 20-03-027 which is part of R.19-01-011- Building Decarbonization Proceeding. Stakeholders comments will be added here after the workshop.
Agenda:
- Staff Presentation: "Assessing Data Needs for Building Decarbonization" - Workshop goals, coordination with other proceedings, rules governing data confidentiality, data categories
- Gridworks: "Framing Data Needs and Use Case for Building Decarbonization" - Framing approach and possible use case for ongoing data submittals to the CPUC to enable building decarbonization
- Environmental Defense Fund: "Natural Gas Infrastructure Data needs in the BUILD and TECH programs" - Deploying data to minimize customer expenditure, maximize environmental benefits and ensure certainty in sharing data
- IOU Presentations: PG&E, SCE, SDG&E, SoCalGas and Southwest Gas will each presented their vision for building decarbonization, role of data and data-related lesson learned from other proceedings
