Marilou (Malou) Hipolito-Karam

Marilou “Malou” Hipolito-Karam brings a wealth of experience to Commissioner Harada's office. Before joining the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC), she worked at San Quentin State Prison.
Throughout her career at the CPUC, Marilou has served in a variety of divisions, including the Executive Director's Office, Commissioners' Offices, Procurement, Administrative Services, Business Services, Licensing, Fiscal, and Human Resources. She also served as a liaison for the Deaf and Disabled Telecommunications Program (DDTP), providing administrative and program support.
Prior to joining Commissioner Harada's office, Marilou worked as a Legal Secretary in the Administrative Law Judge Division, where she gained extensive experience supporting legal and administrative operations. Her broad knowledge of the Commission, strong organizational skills, and dedication to public service make her a valuable member of the Commissioner's team.
Outside of work, Marilou enjoys hiking, cooking, and baking.
